New BOND-PLEX Waterbased (WB) Acrylic Coating From Sherwin-Williams Applies Directly To Prefinished Metal Siding
New Coating Eliminates the Need for a Primer
(CLEVELAND, May 16, 2002) – New from Sherwin-Williams Industrial and Marine Coatings group is a single component, waterborne acrylic, adhesion-promoting coating for pre-finished metal siding that eliminates the need for a primer, reducing application costs.
BOND-PLEX WB Acrylic is a single-component, 100 percent, waterborne acrylic resin coating suitable for interior or exterior use over pre-finished metal siding. The low-VOC, waterborne coating has low odor and dries quickly to a mar resistant finish. In addition to its application advantages, the coating’s early moisture resistance and outstanding gloss retention and weathering characteristics improve long-term appearance. The product is available in a wide variety of colors, including an aluminum.
BOND-PLEX WB Acrylic is suitable for use in USDA-inspected facilities and is recommended for the pre-finished metal building market. It may be applied to fluorocarbons such as Kynar, polyester polymers and silicone polyesters, or when a low sheen finish is required to match existing coil coated metal siding. The coating is also recommended for use in general industrial environments and pulp and paper, food and beverage and pharmaceutical facilities.
The Sherwin-Williams Chemical Coatings Division, with more than 135 years of experience in products finishing technology, serves the chemical coatings market through a North American network of company-owned locations and with expanding global reach.
