Sherwin-Williams Offers New Waterbased Tile-Clad® Coatings
Primer, Topcoat Provide Superior Corrosion-Resistance, Weathering and Aesthetic Performance
(CLEVELAND – May 7, 2003) New from Sherwin-Williams Industrial and Marine Coatings group are Waterbased Tile-Clad® Epoxy Primer and Waterbased Tile-Clad® Epoxy Finish. These two-component, low-VOC, low-odor, nonflammable coatings are ideal for use over steel and concrete surfaces while providing excellent corrosion resistance. They are recommended for a wide range of uses, including marine, structural steel and food-processing applications.
Waterbased Tile-Clad Epoxy Primer can be applied at temperatures as low as 40º F and has a Class A slip coefficient rating, making it ideal for bolted structures. Waterbased Tile-Clad Epoxy Finish is an epoxy-cycloaliphatic amine topcoat. It dries to a high-gloss, abrasion-resistant epoxy finish that resists yellowing and possesses excellent weathering properties and chemical resistance.
In addition to early moisture-resistance, both coatings possess fast-drying capabilities and are dry to the touch in about 45 minutes at 77º F. Both Waterbased Tile-Clad Epoxy Primer and Waterbased Tile-Clad Epoxy Finish are suitable for use in USDA-inspected facilities and clean up with soap and warm water.
